On behalf of all the staff members, I would like to welcome everyone to St. Gerald’s College. It is a privilege to serve as the principal of a school with such a rich history of excellence in teaching and extra-curricular activity.

St. Gerald’s College is a voluntary Catholic secondary school established by the De La Salle Brothers in 1908. The College is under the trusteeship of the Le Chéile Schools Trust and has approximately 600 pupils attending at present. The mission of our Lasallian centre is to give a human and Christian education to the young, with special concern for the disadvantaged.

St. Gerald’s offers a complete range of subjects with the most up-to-date facilities. A special effort is made to ensure that all pupils have access to a broad mix of scientific, academic, technological and artistic subjects. Our school has an outstanding reputation, and I am proud to be part of such a wonderful school.

Our goal is to ensure that all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, diligent researchers and prolific writers.  We do all of this to prepare your son for the demands of the real-world so they may become productive citizens, future leaders and contribute positively to the community.

I would like to encourage each parent/guardian to stay active in your son’s education.  I certainly realise that many of you lead busy lives. However, taking just a few minutes in the evening to talk with your son about school, or simply see that your son is organised for the next school day can have great benefits. Our school diary is an excellent way of checking that your son has completed all of his assigned work.

Our school uniform is important because it symbolises a specific purpose for the day: learning. It creates a sense of belonging and identity with the school community, which extends to a feeling of pride in performance and appearance. I would encourage parents/guardians to ensure their sons have the correct and full uniform for each school day.

Your sons’ personal well-being is important to us.  If you have any concerns about your son or indeed any of his friends, please click here to register your concerns.  Furthermore, if you have any ideas on how we can improve our service, please leave your ideas with us here.

Enjoy the school year and all the excitement it will bring! Please feel free to contact me at
