Each season St. Gerald’s DLS College fields three rugby teams at U14, U16 & U19. The teams play in the Connacht Leagues and Cup competitions which run from September through to March. In April, our Transition Year boys enter the Connacht Rugby Sevens competition. All teams have dedicated coaches and play a minimum of 12 matches per season.
At U14 we encourage all boys to “have a go” at rugby where they are coached in the skills of passing, tackling, kicking and evasion. The squad then enters the Connacht U14 League. In second year the training picks up in readiness for the Junior Cup. Post 16 players enter the Connacht Senior Cup.
The college has enjoyed success at all levels most recently achieving a historic League & Cup A-College double.
Over the years we have had 15 students represent Connacht at various age grades. The college will continue to strive to produce players at this standard.
