Welcome to the St Gerald’s College website. It is hoped that our newly developed website reflects our vibrant school community. St.Gerald's College is a voluntary Catholic Secondary School established by the De La Salle Brothers in 1908. The College is under the trusteeship of the Brothers and has over 600 pupils attending at present.

    The West Coast Racers team representing St Gerald’s College, Castlebar won national awards at the Honda F1 innational finals 1.jpg Schools Technology challenge which took place at Griffith College, Dublin on April 28th last. The team made it through to the national finals after an impressive performance at the regional finals last March where they picked up two awards – best team website and best use of ICT and CAD. They competed against 150 second level schools across Ireland through an initial qualifying round before proceeding through to the regional and national finals.

    Congratulations to Ríán Derrig, a 6th Year student from St. Gerald's College, Castlebar who won The Denny All Ireland Schools Debating final on Saturday 25th April. Rían was representing Connaught in the final and the motion was That this house believes that freedom of speech should never be restricted. Ríán was opposing the motion. Each province was represented by one team and one individual Coláiste Iognáid, Galway was the team representing Connaught and Ríán the individual. Ulster was represented by Dalriada and Ballymena Academy, Leinster by St. Conleth's, Dublin (winning team), Loreto, Crumlin (individual), Munster Coláiste Stiofan Naofa, Cistercian College, Roscrea.
